Who qualifies to become a Commercial Host?
Car rental companies who can offer commercial rental insurance to cover themselves, their guests, and their cars are eligible to list cars as a Commercial Host. Turo only allows businesses to participate that demonstrate strong customer service values and align with the high standards we expect of all our hosts.
Will my day-to-day operations change at all?
Nope. Commercial Hosts have the freedom to operate their business as usual. Claims, late returns, and any fees and fines are left up to your discretion, but we require that you disclose all of your terms on your Turo listing. For example, check out Adel’s “Guidelines” section for a shining example of terms disclosure.
Where are Commercial Hosts permitted to operate?
Commercial Hosts are able to list their cars for rent in most countries around the world, with a few exceptions.
Will Turo provide my guests with insurance, customer support, or roadside assistance?
No. As a Commercial Host, you must provide your guests with commercial rental insurance, and they’ll reach out to you for support and roadside assistance.
How will I get paid?
When you accept a request, Turo will hold the full rental value and then pay you 92.5% (80% outside the US) at the end of the rental. If the rental is longer than a week, you will receive a payment at the end of each week. For example, if the rental is three weeks long, you get three payments each worth a third of the rental at the end of each week. We take on all payment processing fees within our commission. Learn more about the payment process here.
How do I accept bookings?
When someone wants to rent your vehicle, you’ll receive a trip request via push notification, SMS, and email. You can either confirm or decline the request, though we strongly encourage you to keep your availability calendar updated so you never need to decline a request and can provide the best guest experience possible. Once you confirm, you can message the guest freely. If you decline, you can still message them and offer an alternative vehicle.
