The nuts & bolts

Finding the car

Once your guest has found the car, they’ll be able to unlock it directly from the Turo app and will be prompted to document its condition, inside and out.

Unlocking the car

You’ll be able use Turo Go to locate your car anytime except during a trip — location data is disabled to honor guest privacy. Rest assured, Turo can also access your car’s location in case of emergency.

Locating your car

When the trip is over

Guests will drop off your car, return your keys, and then lock the car via the app. You’ll still need to take post-trip photos within 24 hours of checkout to be eligible for your protection plan.

Turo Go is a win-win for you and your guests — they get instant access, and you get nearly effortless earnings while you live your busy life.

Check your eligibility

Keep your car well maintained

Check your car after every trip to tidy it up and make everything look spotless. Keep the inside clean, wash the outside monthly, fill the gas tank, and make sure the check engine lights aren’t on..

Communicate with your guests

Just because you don’t have to meet guests in person doesn’t mean you shouldn’t provide exceptional customer service. Before the trip starts, leave a personal note in the Turo Go guest handbook (provided in your welcome kit) to let them know you’re there to help. During the trip, message them to make sure everything’s going smoothly. Finally, after the trip is over and they leave you a review, leave a response and thank them for booking your car!

Take photos after each trip

When your guest drops off your car, the app will prompt them to take post-trip photos. However, you should check your car after every trip and take photos of your own — if there’s any new damage on your car, you’ll need to submit documentation within 24 hours to file a claim.

Activating Turo Go Digital

Once you’ve determined your car is eligible for Turo Go, gear up to host with this quick, three-step process.

  1. Purchase an RF (radio frequency) protective pouch to store your car keys — the RF pouch (also called a Faraday bag and easily accessible on Amazon) will block the radio frequency from the key fob so your guest can access your car from their phone.
  2. Head to your Host Hub and look for the “Turo Go” tab, and click or tap the “Activate” button to next your eligible listing
  3. Stash your RF pouch in your car’s glove compartment for your guests to access once their trip starts.
